Online Fee Payments: Self Represented Litigants

Registered CM/ECF users MUST continue to submit payments through the CM/ECF system.

Online fee payments are made through Pay.gov, a Department of Treasury program.

WARNING: Payments must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on the day they are due.

Who Can Use This Service:

  • Filers who are not represented by an attorney.
  • Filers who are not registered as CM/ECF users.

Accepted Methods of Payment:

  • Debit card (preferred)
  • ACH (electronic payment from a bank account)
  • PayPal (linked to debit card or bank account only)

(Credit cards are NOT accepted)

Fees That Can Be Paid Online:

  • Chapter 7, 11 and 13 full filing fees or installment payments.
  • Motions To Reopen Chapter 7 or 13, Pro Hac Vice, and Chapter 13 to 7 conversion.
  • Other miscellaneous fees owed to the court for amendments, copies, certifications/exemplifications, abstract of judgment, adversary proceedings, appeals and audio recordings.

NOTE: This payment option cannot be used for Chapter 13 plan payments to the trustee or to make Chapter 11 plan payments.

When Will My Payment Be Processed:

  • Payments will be processed by the Court up to 4:00 p.m. on the date payment is accepted by Pay.gov.
  • Payments received after 4:00 p.m. will be processed the next business day.
  • ACH payments may be delayed for up to two business days after your payment has been accepted by Pay.gov.

When paying fees associated with copy requests or if you are unsure of the amount due, please call the Clerk's Office first to verify the fee amount prior to submitting a payment (Brooklyn Office: 347-394-1700; Central Islip Office: 631-712-6200).

WARNING: A $53.00 fee will be charged for any returned payments due to insufficient funds or chargeback.
