Pro Bono Counsel
In an effort to make volunteer attorneys more accessible to pro se parties in bankruptcy proceedings when such parties lack the resources to retain counsel, the bankruptcy courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York have updated joint Rules Governing Procedures for Appointment of Pro Bono Counsel in Bankruptcy Proceedings from a Bankruptcy Pro Bono Panel. The courts have also joined in inviting members of the private bar to participate.
