Formation of Consumer Lawyer Advisory Committee

Tuesday, August 2, 2016

The Eastern District of New York Bankruptcy Court is forming a Consumer Lawyer Advisory Committee to increase bench bar interaction and help develop best practices in our Court. The goal of the Court is to draw broad membership to the Committee, and to have practitioners who regularly appear in Brooklyn or Central Islip or in both locations. The Committee would meet periodically at each Court location, with Brooklyn area based practitioners attending the Brooklyn meetings, and Long Island based practitioners attending the Central Islip meetings; the Committee would also strive to have an annual joint meeting. The  judges of the Court would serve as non-voting members. An organizational meeting will be held in the fall of 2016.
