To schedule training, please fill out the ECF Training Registration Form to reserve space at the selected location. Mail the completed form to: U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 290 Federal Plaza, P.O. Box 9013, Central Islip, NY 11722-9013; or send the form by e-mail to Margaret_Merritt@nyeb.uscourts.gov; or drop the form off at the Clerk’s Office. You will be contacted if the date selected is not available. A confirmation e-mail or fax will be sent. You will receive 3 CLE credits for taking the class. There is no charge to take the class.
Notice to parties who have received ECF Training in another district:
The court will consider waiving the required ECF training class if you have received classroom training in a Bankruptcy Court or electronically file in a Bankruptcy Court. Please be advised that you will be required to pass a test if your electronic docketing was only at a District Court.
To apply for a waiver, complete a Request for Waiver of Required Electronic Case Filing Course and Attorney Password Application, and forward the completed forms (originals, please) to: U.S. Bankruptcy Court, 290 Federal Plaza, P.O. Box 9013, Central Islip, NY 11722-9013. (Note: The Password Application is interactive. Please complete the form on-line; then print the completed form, sign it, and forward it to the court along with the request for waiver and your ECF Transaction Log.) The Transaction Log is not required if you have received classroom training at a Bankruptcy Court. The Transaction Log is located under the ECF Utilities menu option.
Qualified creditors may apply to obtain a limited access password from the court in order to begin filing proofs of claim and related documents electronically over the Internet. Follow the above instructions concerning completion and forwarding of the application.
Please note that it can take up to ten business days to receive your password once the application has been filed with the court.
